Anthony McKee is a professional photographer with an exceptional talent for photographing people. McKee studied photography in New Zealand and after five years as a news photographer went to work freelance for magazines and commercial clients. McKee is best known for his documentary style photography, a genre that relies on a quiet presence combined with strong observation skills to capture unposed moments in time. McKee is an expert at working in available and low light situations however he is also adept at using additional light, both on location and in studio situations, skills that he often applies to other areas of work including fashion photography.
McKee has won numerous awards including New Zealand Landscape Photographer of the Year and finalist for New Zealand Professional Photographer of the Year and nowadays is a regular judge at the annual professional photography awards in Australia and New Zealand. Aside from his usual work as a photographer McKee often lectures on the subject and is a feature writer for magazines including Australian Photography, Digital Photography And Design and Australian Flying.
Anthony McKee is based in Melbourne and travels interstate and overseas to complete assignments.
